This basket is the result of years of practice, tremendous technical skill and quality assurance. The weavers from Bolgatanga, Ghana spend countless hours stripping and dyeing elephant grass fibres into patterns and colourways that are unique.
The wave-like silhouette is a design that few weavers are able to master. It is crafted from flexible yet strong palms and the wide diameter at the top allows for easy storage.
The basket is biodegradable and resilient but will fade if left in the sun too long. The opening of this size is approximately 30 cm (12”) x 30 cm (12”) and it is approximately 16 cm (6.5”) tall to the top of the rim.

Global Village Nanaimo uses Canada Post for shipping, unless special arrangements are made. Our shipping rates are effective for anywhere in Canada.

That means that we need to charge fees to cover the costs of the shipping. We do not charge any handling costs, and we will continue to offer the most reasonable shipping costs possible, in order to cover the costs.
