This tray is very smooth and very thin, as well as uniquely hand painted. They are very flat to the edge without a ridge. It is ideal for use as a cookie plate, a candle holder, a small charcuterie and other uses, including decorative purposes.
Soapstone is amazingly pleasant to touch, and this plate is a perfect example of that feature.
Each plate is oval shaped and is 10” long, 7” wide at the widest spot, and is plain on the back.

This Soapstone Tray has been created by the artisans of Nyabigena Soapstone Carvers in Kenya. Through sales of their products, nearly 150 soapstone carvers receive crafting and safety workshops, support for social programs for widows and orphans, and community improvement initiatives. They rely on the proceeds of these crafts for funds for basic necessities. These talented artisans do everything by hand, with intricate details achieved from hand-drawn designs, chisels, small picks, and wood tools.

Global Village Nanaimo uses Canada Post for shipping, unless special arrangements are made. Our shipping rates are effective for anywhere in Canada.
Shipping costs are listed for each item on our website. If you are purchasing more than one item and we are able to ship them together more efficiently, we will refund the difference. We are really nice people, so we will do whatever we can to keep those costs as low as possible and we will send you a refund if we can.
If you would like to pick up your package in Nanaimo, B.C, select the "PICK UP " option and there will not be any shipping fees charged
