These baskets are the result of years of practice, tremendous technical skill and quality assurance. The weavers from Bolgatanga, Ghana spend countless hours stripping and dyeing elephant grass fibres into patterns and colourways that are unique.
These mini baskets are replicas of the larger, traditional size baskets and include the same beauty, strength and skill. The basket is biodegradable and resilient but will fade if left in the sun too long.
The round mini basket is 15 cm tall to the top of the rim and the opening is 18 cm across the diameter. The oval mini basket is 14.5 cm tall to the top of the rim and the opening is approximately 25 cm x 15 cm. There are 2 Nyaringa baskets. The larger one is 21 cm tall at the sides and 16 cm tall in the middle and the opening is approximately 21 cm x 18 cm. The smaller Nyaringa basket is 18 cm tall on the sides and 15 cm tall in the middle and the opening is approximately 17 cm x 14 cm. . The handles are leather wrapped for comfort.
