BaSE is a non-profit Guaranteed Fair Trade organization in Bangladesh set up to co-ordinate and promote the handicraft products of various female manufacturing groups who tend to be out of the mainstream of society, especially those working in the South-West. BaSE is a member of WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) since 1999.

BaSE is owned by women-led producer groups and includes a total of over 10,000 producers (99% are women) organized in 17 producer groups and over 3,000 products.

The producers are from marginalized communities

Global Village Nanaimo uses Canada Post for shipping, unless special arrangements are made. Our shipping rates are effective for anywhere in Canada.

Shipping costs are listed for each item on our website. If you are purchasing more than one item and we are able to ship them together more efficiently, we will refund the difference. We are really nice people, so we will do whatever we can to keep those costs as low as possible and we will send you a refund if we can.

If you would like to pick up your package in Nanaimo, B.C, select the "PICK UP " option and there will not be any shipping fees charged
